The organized building industry has been there done that throughout the years; when executed per design and proper code it alleviates undue (saves$$) costs. This simple drip edge flashing is one exterior design that does You a few decades of favors. If installed correctly ...... We want that rain/moisture going from the roof to the ground! That gruff upper sketch shows the drip edge tight to the fascia board, when this occurs H2O falls from Above then rolls down the front and causes immediate ruin of that particular surface. The image below has been altered too miss on the drip (only by tiny amount) and fall to ground!
