This client had an old appliance replaced that left some Drywall/Plaster repairs needed. So these kind of Drywall/Plaster Patches is also know in the field, to Artisans, as a Fire Plug. Named for its ease of not having the costly chore of adding any additional 2x's or further demo-ing back to the existing Stud that makes for costly waste of time & quite the dusty mess!
Simply just bury methodically removing the back section of the Drywall and leaving the front part entack to allow the mudd too hold the existing Plaster Repair, therefore, appear -ing as if You had to never do any work @ all! Win-Win, let's work smart rather than hard
